WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT RIGHT NOW

YOU CAN HELP IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

(1)     Make a donation to assist our legal fighting fund, by posting a cheque drawn in favour of ‘South Fremantle/Hamilton Hill Residents’ Assoc’ to:

The Treasurer, Save South Beach,
14 Hickory Street, South Fremantle, WA 6162.

We are aiming to raise $10,000 for our Supreme Court case.  If 50 local families each contribute $200, we can reach this target. If you can afford it and you live close to the site, please give serious consideration to donating $200.  If this amount is too high, smaller amounts of $50 or $100 will help us get there.

(2)     Write a letter to the local papers voicing your concerns

(3)     Join our Residents' Association if you live in South Fremantle or Hamilton Hill (membership fee is $5.00) and sign on to our email list to keep up to date with developments in our campaign

(4)     Write to Jim McGinty (Health Minister) at jmcginty@mp.wa.government.au and to  Dr Judy Edwards (Environment Minister) judy-edwards@dpc.wa.government.au voicing any concerns you may have about the proposed lead excavation at the ANI site

(5)     Stockland has placed large stockpiles of fill on the land behind the ANI site.  Stockland’s General Manager told the West Australian in January 2005 that they have placed 500,000m3 there in the last 9 months and no-one has complained about it – he drew the inference that dust would not be a problem during the ANI excavation.  If you have noticed an increase in dust, please tell the following people who are responsible:

(a) Paul Turner, scientist at GHD, LandCorp’s consultant at permail@ghd.com.au (b) Dept of Health, via sarah.taylor@health.wa.government.au
(c) Dept of Environment, via  rebecca.moen@environment.wa.government.au
